TEARA / TDXA is a FREE-To-Join organization assembled to encourage the exchange of technical ideas and information associated with Amateur Radio, to bring DX'rs and Contesters together to enjoy our common interests, and to foster group and club participation in DXing and Contesting related events. This club is FREE, it's sole purpose is as stated. Let's work Contests, Events, chase DX, and have fun!!

Why a DX Club?? We've come a long ways since our beginnings in 1989. The club was originally a standard boiler plate ham club. It was fun, but there were and are LOTS of clubs in the area to be a part of that have great social aspects enjoyed by users, daily. We had nothing special, and I always felt that we were "watering down" the area club base. In the mid-90's, we tried an experiment. We placed HF operation in the daily reach of the hoards of Technician class hams in our area, and they loved it. I watched our membership explode when we linked our 2 meter repeater to the 10 meter repeater, and scores of people became excited to work DX...something they had never done. Immediately, there were quite a large number of people waiting in line to work DX over the link. Sure they could do this on Echo link, but this was REAL RADIO....with all of it's noise, band fades, and propagation shifts. The magic of the real deal. Our VE Team saw a large influx in people who suddenly wanted to upgrade so they could work HF. HF has always been special and even magical to me, and I found the same to be true for many others.

The concept of a DX club is simple...we keep each other interested and motivated to work DX contests and radio events, pushing our capabilities forward as we learn and improve. Some of us have been doing this over 50 years, while others are just starting. Sharing our knowledge and working together helps us grow and lay down some big numbers in the contests. We'll stay on top of the latest and upcoming operating events, and have fun doing it.
