Coverage Area Maps of TDXA Contests
TDXA Home Chapter "Local Club" CoverageIf TDXA enters a contest under the Local Club category (submitting 10 logs or fewer), the radius shrinks from 250 miles down to 175 miles.- A 175-mile circle centered on FM05tw in North Carolina will still easily cover the entire Roanoke Division (North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia). - However, members living further away (such as deep into Georgia, Ohio, or Pennsylvania) would fall outside the circle and would have to be excluded from the club roster for that particular contest. Always take a moment and drop a quick email to let us know if you're gonna jump in the contest, even for just a few contacts, as that can help our status (local or medium club) and overall footprint for others.
TDXA Home Chapter "Medium Club" CoverageIf TDXA enters a contest under the Medium Club category (submitting 11 to 50 logs), the radius shrinks is typically 250 miles from the mother chapter center of FM05tw.- A 250-mile circle centered on FM05tw in North Carolina easily reaches across state lines, allowing us to include members residing and operating in the following major areas: - All of North Carolina: The entire state falls inside the boundary, extending all the way west past Asheville (235 miles away) and out to the coast. - All of Virginia: Key active ham regions like Richmond (122 miles) and Roanoke (126 miles) are well within the limit. - Washington, D.C. Metro: Operators in and around the nation's capital (218 miles) are fully eligible. - Parts of South Carolina: The circle reaches south past Columbia (201 miles) and just catches coastal areas like Charleston (236 miles). - Look at the additional coverage area we gain by simply having the minimum of 11 logs entered. Again, always take a moment and drop a quick email to let us know if you're gonna jump in the contest, even for just a few contacts, as that can help our status (local or medium club) and overall footprint for others.
Notes about the TDXA Club Coverage Circle1- The club circle only applies to score submissions for ARRL Club Competitions such as SS, ARRL 160, ARRL 10 and ARRL DX. It does not apply for score submissions in contests sponsored by the NCJ, CQ Magazine, or others.2- The club circle has nothing to do with membership in TDXA. Everyone is welcome to join TDXA – you do not have to live or operate from within the club circle to be a member. We're also working on "Chapters" in other areas that may work well for you. Membership in TDXA is free and lifetime, take a moment and join! 3- TDXA tries to position the circle to cover the maximum number of club members. We do not adjust the club circle from contest to contest. If you find yourself outside the circle, and you’d like to be inside, please contact wb4iuy@gmail.com to indicate your interest, and the club will look into a way to accommodate your request. Moving the club circle is considered official club business and requires a membership vote at an official club meeting. ***Follow along, if you're interested. Updates will be in the Club Bulletins section. Take a moment to Join TDXA! It's free, and you'll help us with our contest footprint. Who knows, you might want to work a little contest stuff with us and you'll be ready to go! RETURN to the main TEARA Webpage! |
